You can get a decent hotel from USD 55 and above per night (including breakfast and airport transfer). How difficult is Mardi Himal Trek?
Mardi Himal Trek is a moderate trek, however the trail involves a fair share of trodden paths as well. The remoteness and high altitude make the trek more difficult. Likewise, the trail goes through dense forests, following rugged paths. You have to be good in shape and health to join the Mardi Himal Trekking.
Best time to go on Mardi Himal Trek
The best time to do Mardi Himal Trek is in spring that lasts from March to April, and autumn that lasts from October to November in Nepal. Moreover, these are perfect months to trek anywhere in the Himalayas because of stable weather, clear views, and a pleasant climate.
Accommodation and Food during the trek
During the trek, you will spend nights in a basic teahouse that usually offers twin sharing rooms and a common washroom. You can get a single room as well, but it may cost you more money. There is nothing fancy in the room. Likewise, the meals will be served as per the menu of the tea houses. You can expect dishes like rice, chapati, bread, curries (veg/non-veg), pudding, porridge, sandwiches, pasta, egg, oats, etc.
Transportation used on Mardi Himal Trek
The Mardi Himal Trek package includes airport pickup & drop-up service. Likewise, there will be a private vehicle to get in and out of Pokhara. You will drive to the starting point of the trek, Kande from Pokhara. Similarly, a short drive from Nayapul, the ending point of the trek, will take you back to Pokhara.
Electricity & Charging Facilities
Mardi Himal Trek itinerary follows a very remote route. Most of the villagers along the trail depend on solar power and might charge you a few extra bucks to let you charge your device. Carry spare batteries or a solar charger. In Kathmandu and Pokhara, there is no shortage of electricity.
Luggage
You will be carrying all the necessities in a duffel bag during the trek, which is carried by a porter. On you, there will be a light day pack, where you can put electronic devices, snacks, water, and other essentials things. While trekking, you can store your extra luggage in the hotel locker room for free of cost.
Guide & Crew during Mardi Himal Trek
To ensure the safety of our guests on the trail, we make sure all of our crew members, including guide & porters are well trained. You will be guided by a professional and active Sherpa guide. In a group of 8 people or more, there will be an assistant guide as well. Similarly, the porters we work with are friendly. Every two members of the group will get one porter (porters carry around 20 Kg to 22 Kg, 10kg/11kg per person)
Child Policy for Mardi Himal Trek
To go on Mardi Himal Trekking, you have to be accompanied by an identified guardian if you are under 18 years old. The trail is off-beaten, therefore previous trekking experience will help you a lot. Gratuities/Tips for Mardi Himal Trek Crew Members
After the completion of the trip, you can tip guides and porters as gratitude. All the members of the team can tip USD 100 each to the trek guide (divided between porters & guide). Your team leader will help you with that. Likewise, we recommend you (each member of the group) tip USD 5 each to the tour guide, USD 2 each to the driver. Tipping is culture and deeply appreciated by the crew members.
Personal Expenses on Mardi Himal Trek
Personal expenses include snacks, drinks, and shopping both on the trail & in the city. You can estimate USD 12 to USD 15 per day on the trial. The amount can differ from one person to another.
Insurance/Rescue/Evacuation on Mardi Himal Trek
During the trek, you will be following off beaten and remote route. Therefore, we advise you to get yourself proper travel insurance that covers medical bills, air evacuation, loss/theft of property, and flight cancellation. Travel insurance will keep you safe and sound in an emergency.
